There are approximately 20 full time venues presenting stand up comedy in New York, while Los Angeles can boast approximately 15 clubs offering multiple performances throughout the week. The Chicago metropolitan area contains only 3 clubs and a further 2 in the far suburban catchment area. Where Chicago attracts exciting new performers to the city by offering centers of excellence for training the next generation of musicians, actors and artists it’s own stand up comedy community is often forced to leave in search of greater opportunities and work. Tight Five Productions aims to provide a Chicago home for independent stand up comedy that retains and nurtures the most innovative stand up comedy talent.
